WINTER FLYING
Oh the things you have to do just to go flying!

CORPORATE AVIATION TOUR

One of our club members arranged a tour of the aircraft operations of a major corporation. The aircraft were Falcon 900EX's that are capable of trans-oceanic travel. Indeed, we learned one of them had just returned from India, with one stop in Oslo, Norway. The care given to the aircraft was impressive, but that was even exceeded by the cockpit flight gear, including the pull-down optical screen (seen most frequently in military attack aircraft) to allow the PIC to see reflections of the key flight instruments while looking straight forward through the wind screen.
PHL TOWER TOUR - We recently toured the control tour at Philadelphia
International Airport and associated Traffic Control facility.
Many thanks to our host Mary Wunder for the great tour!

4LQ ON A LONG CROSS COUNTRY - Recently one of the members took 4LQ from DYL to Nova Scotia, Canada. The round trip was over 16 hours of flying-2000 miles. A harbor on the Bay of Fundy shows the 50 foot changes in tide levels each day. The airborne picture of the Bay makes it hard to believe that it almost empties once a day by tidal flow. Coming home was not as easy as going up, as can be seen from the photo from the cockpit in full IMC.

OPEN HOUSE - Father's Day get together for current and prospective
members and families

LEARN TO FLY DAY - We recently hosted a local Boy Scout Troop and
provided First Flight to several scouts and their siblings
